What will it cost?
You qualify for a free NHS-funded sight test if:
You’re aged 16, 17 or 18 and are in full-time education
You’re aged 60 or over
You or one of your immediate family suffers from glaucoma
You have been diagnosed with Diabetes
You receive means tested benefits
What can I expect?
A compressive eye examination by qualified experienced optometrists to include checks for:
Cataract
Glaucoma
Macular degeneration
A digital fundus photograph is also available with no extra charge.
At the end of your your examination your will be issued with a copy of your prescription which can be used to purchase spectacles if required or an assessment for contact lenses.
What do I need?
We would ask that you bring with you;
Proof of your NHS entitlement if applicable
Any current glasses
Any current contact lenses
Copies of your previous prescription if you have it?
List of Medication
A fee of £30 if you pay privately for your eye test
And we will provide the optical expertise!

At Elliott & Heath we pride ourselves on keeping up to date with the latest in technology.
The downstairs testing room has just had a complete refit with brand new equipment including:
Latest Slit lamp for assessing the anterior eye
Auto- refractor keratometer, estimates the power of the eye and measures the anterior corneal curves for accurate contact lens fitting.
We also have a Digital Camera for taking retinal photographs, which are kept on file, so can be compared year after year to assess for any changes.
